ARC team wins National Badminton Championship for a second consecutive year

Advocating the Rights of Children (ARC) was represented at the 40th National Badminton Tournament by a team of players who wanted to support the work of the organization by highlighting the message that protecting children from abuse is everybodys job. At the tournament, which started on 22 November 2013, ARC was represented by Zayan Zaki, Hassan Afsheen, Hassan Riyaz, Ali Sharmeel and Ahmed Shareef. ARC team competed against STO, Static and Offu FC in the Mens Team Event Category. ARC team beat Offu FC by 3-1 in the finals held today to win the Championship for a second consecutive year. ARC wishes to express appreciation to Offu FC for also for wearing the ARC logo on their team jerseys, as a symbol of their support to our cause of protecting and promoting the rights and wellbeing of children in the Maldives. ARC also extends sincere appreciation to the Badminton Association of Maldives for providing a platform to raise awareness at this tournament. The trophies and medals to the winners are scheduled to be awarded at a ceremony to be held tomorrow evening at Ekuveni Stadium.
